Best for Brands that want their own wholesale link, independent reps, and tradeshow QR on top of Shopify/Magento — without a default 15% marketplace cut Brands that need independent retailers they do not already have; retailers who want net-60 and free opening-order returns Brands that want DTC + wholesale in one Shopify admin and will pay Plus (or accept native B2B catalog limits on lower plans) Wholesalers who want self-serve B2B on the store they already run (sales agents, quoting) without a separate microsite Apparel, footwear, and golf brands that sell through digital catalogs, line sheets, and a sales force Fashion and specialty wholesale: digital showroom, rep order-writing, department-store / specialty motion Inventory and order management / OMS — stock and warehouses as the system of record. Not a branded wholesale selling portal. Importers, private-label, and factories — not a branded retailer portal
Who owns the buyer The brand (orders on the brand’s wholesale link). A buyer hub is also marketed; the paying product is the portal. Shared on marketplace orders. Faire Direct is 0% commission for retailers the brand brings. The brand (Shopify company accounts). The brand. SparkLayer overlays B2B on the merchant’s existing URL; retail visitors never see it. The brand. Orders run on RepSpark’s wholesale tools, not a Faire-style marketplace take. The brand on the wholesale site. NuORDER also markets a buyer marketplace for discovery. Not a selling marketplace. You already own the channels Cin7 is syncing. Shared. Search and checkout sit on Alibaba (often with Trade Assurance).
Seller fees Essential $199/mo, Pro $299/mo, Enterprise $499/mo (yearly: $159 / $239 / $399). Payment integration fee 0.50% / 0.35% / 0.25%. Free trial advertised. Free to list. Marketplace: 15% + $10 new-customer fee (North America). 0% Faire Direct. Processing 1.9%–3.5% + $0.30 by payout speed (SaleHoo, 21 July 2026). Plus: $2,300/mo (3-year USD term) or $2,500/mo (1-year), or a variable platform fee. Native B2B exists below Plus with tighter catalog limits. Card rates extra. Free Basic (3 price lists, 5 orders/mo). Paid: Starter $49/mo, Growth $149, Pro $299, Enterprise from $499/mo. Extra agents $39/user; quoting $49/mo below Pro. No SparkLayer take-rate on invoice/quote payments. Quote only. Named tiers: Accelerate, Professional, Enterprise (repspark.com/pricing). No public monthly dollar list — do not invent one. Custom quote. Official wholesale page has mentioned plans from about $600/mo; a standard implementation is advertised as $7,500+ (sometimes waived). Confirm on nuorder.com — not unofficial blog “$7k/year” figures. Directory listings commonly start at $349 / $599 / $999 per month (Omni; Software Advice / GetApp). Quote for scale. This is inventory software, not a portal take-rate. US packages: $1,999 / $3,999 / $7,499 per year. SaleHoo’s “~$166/mo” matches the $1,999 year. Other regions quote Gold Supplier differently — confirm with Alibaba.
Buyer fees Marketed as free. Free to join. Net-60 and free opening-order returns are buyer perks funded by seller commission. None as a marketplace. Accounts pay you. None as a marketplace. SparkLayer does not process cards; the host store (e.g. Shopify) does. Retailers order through the brand’s catalogs; not a Faire-style buyer perk funded by 15%. Buyers use the showroom; not a 15% marketplace perk model. Not a buyer marketplace. Typically free for buyers.
Marketplace commission None published on globetrader.com/pricing. Do not invent a GMV take-rate. The only published % is the payment integration fee. ~15% + $10 on first marketplace orders; 15% on later marketplace orders; 0% Direct. None (commerce software). None (B2B layer). None published as a Faire-style % of GMV. Software is quote-priced. None published as a Faire-style % of GMV. Software is custom-quoted. None — inventory / OMS, not a selling marketplace. Membership on the US seller page, not a Faire-style % of GMV.
Net terms Net checkout terms and customer-specific payment terms on all three plans. Net-60 for buyers (marketplace perk). Native payment terms on company/location records. Net terms, pay on invoice, pay on account (listed on all plans). Brand-set on the wholesale tools. Brand/account terms on the showroom. Whatever the connected sales channel extends. Trade Assurance escrow — not brand-extended net-30 from your own portal.
MOQ Brand-set (order limits in the portal). Per brand; SaleHoo commonly $100–$300. Brand-set (quantity rules / catalogs). Brand-set (pack size, min/max, order-total rules). Brand-set. Brand-set. Not the product. Per supplier; SaleHoo often 100–1,000+ units.
Reps Built in: sales-rep admin portal, order-on-behalf, commission tracking (globetrader.com/reps). Not a dedicated independent-rep commission system. Company accounts/catalogs are native; rep-assisted ordering and quoting typically need extra apps. Sales Agent Portal: 1 / 2 / 5 agents on Starter / Growth / Pro; +$39 per extra agent. First-class: digital catalogs, line sheets, order-writing for a sales force. Core product: digital showroom and rep order-writing. Not a wholesale showroom or commission portal. Not a brand-rep commission tool. Staff sub-accounts on seller packages.
Tradeshow QR Quick Order Form + Quick Order QR Code tradeshow order system on every plan. Marketplace app/storefront — not a brand-booth QR cart you control. No native booth-QR wholesale flow in the Shopify comparisons cited here. Quick order, CSV/email Intelligent Cart, barcode scan — not marketed as tradeshow QR. Event microsites and catalogs; not marketed as GlobeTrader-style booth QR. Virtual showrooms and market appointments; not a booth-QR cart you own. Not the product. Sourcing + Trade Assurance. Physical Asia shows sit more with Global Sources.
Add-on vs replatform Add-on to Shopify, Magento, or another DTC store (unique wholesale link; optional theme integration). Listing, not a replatform. Shopify inventory sync is part of Faire’s public pitch. Native layer if you already run Shopify; replatform if you are leaving Magento/custom/ERP. Plus is a plan change. Overlay — no replatform; an existing store is required. Shopify (all plans), BigCommerce, Wix, WooCommerce; Magento/custom via Ignite. Wholesale ecommerce platform with Shopify/ERP integrations — catalogs and reps are the product. Wholesale / showroom platform with 120+ ERP, PLM, and POS integrations (Lightspeed). OMS / inventory layer across channels. Complements a portal; it is not one. Separate marketplace storefront (US page mentions Shopify/Amazon catalog import).
Geography HQ Solana Beach, CA; marketed global. SaleHoo: US, CA, UK, EU, AU, NZ. Global Shopify. Plus has localized list prices. Based in Bath, UK (support Mon–Fri 8am–6pm GMT; Enterprise 24/7). Used internationally on Shopify et al. Strong in apparel, footwear, and golf; used with US and international wholesale teams. Global B2B (Lightspeed); fashion and specialty first. Global inventory / OMS software. Global sourcing; US seller packages at seller.alibaba.com/us.

Do not flatten those fees into one “wholesale rate”: monthly software (GlobeTrader, SparkLayer), % of GMV (Faire marketplace), enterprise SaaS (Plus), quote-only wholesale platforms (RepSpark, NuORDER), inventory/OMS (Cin7), annual membership (Alibaba US).

Software is GlobeTrader. When you want XM Works on the account, that is The Works — live full-service export management. Those retainers (Essentials $5,000 / month + 5%, Growth $10,000 / month + 3%, Full-Service $15,000 / month + 2% of gross sales through managed accounts) are not the $199 / $299 / $499 GlobeTrader seller plans.

Choose X if…

Choose GlobeTrader if you want a brand-owned wholesale microsite — your link, invoices, independent-rep commissions, and tradeshow QR — on Shopify, Magento, or another stack, and you do not want Faire’s 15% as the default cost of an order. House accounts, reps, and shows are the motion.

Choose Faire if distribution is the bottleneck: you need indie retailers you do not already have. SaleHoo treats Faire as the default indie-retail marketplace (net-60; free opening-order returns). Pay 15% + $10 on marketplace first orders, 15% on reorders, or move those accounts to Faire Direct (0%). SaleHoo flags category saturation (e.g. candles, jewelry) and payout-speed processing as watch-outs.

Choose Shopify B2B / Plus if wholesale is a module of a larger Shopify operation: one admin, company/location records, catalogs, net terms, shared DTC inventory. Plus is $2,300/mo on a three-year USD term — a different budget than a $199–$499 portal. Shopify’s 1 July 2026 article: native B2B now runs on every plan; unlimited catalogs, deposits, and partial payments stay on Plus.

Choose SparkLayer if buyers should stay on your existing storefront URL. Paid plans start at $49/mo (50 B2B orders, 1 sales agent); Basic is free. SparkLayer does not process payments. Non-Enterprise plans cap monthly B2B orders (50 / 100 / 150). SparkLayer’s own copy contrasts itself with “web portal” products that send wholesale buyers to a separate site — which is the GlobeTrader model. Pick the UX you want.

Choose RepSpark if the product is digital catalogs, line sheets, and a sales force — especially apparel, footwear, and golf. Pricing is quote-only (Accelerate / Professional / Enterprise).

Choose NuORDER if the motion is a digital showroom and wholesale order-writing for department-store and specialty retail (Lightspeed). Pricing is a custom quote; the official site has mentioned plans from about $600/mo and a standard implementation advertised as $7,500+.

Choose Cin7 if inventory is the system of record: warehouses, stock, and channels. It is OMS, not a branded wholesale selling portal. Directory listings commonly start at $349/mo (Omni).

Choose Alibaba if the job is factory-direct sourcing, private label, or containers. It is not a Faire alternative for boutique branded goods and not a GlobeTrader alternative. MOQs are often hundreds of units; Trade Assurance is the risk tool. US membership: $1,999–$7,499/year.

Run two if you need discovery and ownership: Faire or Alibaba for new doors; a portal, SparkLayer, Shopify B2B, RepSpark, or NuORDER for house accounts, reps, and reorders. Pair Cin7 when inventory — not the storefront — is the bottleneck.

Worked example: a $1,000 opening order

SaleHoo’s 2026 guide uses a $1,000 opening order as the unit (“15% + $10 takes $160 off a $1,000 opening order before you’ve shipped a box”). Math below uses published rates only.

Assumptions. $1,000 USD product subtotal (no shipping/tax). North American brand; Faire marketplace first order from a new retailer (not Direct); the $10 is Faire’s North America new-customer fee. GlobeTrader Pro $299/mo + 0.35% payment integration fee. No GlobeTrader GMV commission is published, so none is included. Faire processing (1.9%–3.5% + $0.30) and GlobeTrader gateway fees (PayPal, Authorize.net, card networks) are not invented and sit outside the $160 vs $3.50 lines. Faire net-60 / free opening-order returns, and Faire’s retailer network, are not priced into GlobeTrader’s $299.

Line on that $1,000 Faire marketplace (new retailer) GlobeTrader Pro (published)
Commission / take-rate 15% = $150 No GMV commission published
New-customer fee $10 $0 (SaaS is monthly)
Published payment-related % Processing not in the $160 0.35% = $3.50
Published subtotal on this order $160 $3.50

Add SaleHoo’s Faire payout band and that first order is about $179–$195 published ($19.30–$35.30 processing). GlobeTrader’s comparable unknown is the gateway take. Faire has no monthly listing fee in SaleHoo’s table; GlobeTrader Pro does.

If this month you process… Faire marketplace GlobeTrader Pro $299 + 0.35%
One $1,000 new retailer order $160 (+ processing) $299 + $3.50 = $302.50 (+ any gateway fees)
Ten $1,000 reorders (15%, no $10) $1,500 (+ processing) $299 + $35 = $334 (+ any gateway fees)
Ten $1,000 via Faire Direct (0%) $0 commission (+ processing) Still $334 if those orders run on GlobeTrader

Crossover vs Faire marketplace commission (ignoring $10, processing, gateway fees): $299 ÷ 0.15 ≈ $1,993 GMV/month equals one month of Pro. Arithmetic on published rates, not a promise the same orders follow.

Faire Direct caveat: if the retailer already buys from you, Direct’s 0% commission can beat both a 15% cut and a $299 portal on commission alone. The portal argument is then operational — your link, reps, QR booth, Magento/Shopify add-on, terms you extend — not “Faire is always more expensive.”

SparkLayer ($49–$499/mo, order caps) and Plus ($2,300/mo) do not belong on a single-PO grid. Alibaba’s $1,000 factory order is membership plus freight — wrong category. RepSpark, NuORDER, and Cin7 are not a percentage of that $1,000 order, so this example does not apply the same way: RepSpark and NuORDER are quote-priced selling platforms; Cin7 is inventory/OMS.

FAQ

Is GlobeTrader a Faire alternative?

For house accounts, reps, and a brand-owned checkout, yes: software plus a published payment-integration fee instead of 15% + $10 as the default. For Faire’s retailer network, net-60, and free opening-order returns, no. Those are what the commission buys. Brands often list on Faire for discovery and keep a portal (or Faire Direct) for accounts they own.

Is GlobeTrader a Shopify B2B alternative?

It can be if you want a dedicated wholesale portal — including Magento, rep commissions, and tradeshow QR — without Plus. It is not Shopify DTC and not Plus’s commerce OS. If company catalogs inside Shopify are enough, native B2B or SparkLayer-on-Shopify is the smaller change. GlobeTrader’s published position is add-on, not replatform.

Is GlobeTrader an Alibaba alternative?

No. Alibaba is factory sourcing with memberships and Trade Assurance. GlobeTrader is a branded order portal for brands selling to retailers. It does not publish a China-factory catalog or an Alibaba-scale RFQ flow. “Alibaba alternative” belongs with Global Sources, IndiaMART, Made-in-China, Thomasnet.

Is GlobeTrader a SparkLayer alternative?

Same job family, different shape. SparkLayer overlays your current website from $49/mo (or free Basic). GlobeTrader is a custom branded portal / unique link, names Magento beside Shopify, and treats rep commissions and tradeshow QR as first-class. SparkLayer’s published extras are the sales-agent storefront, quoting engine, and AI cart, with order caps off Enterprise. Choose on URL (retail site vs wholesale microsite) and Magento/rep/show needs.

How is GlobeTrader different from RepSpark, NuORDER, and Cin7?

RepSpark and NuORDER are wholesale selling platforms (showroom, reps, line sheets), often fashion-first and quote-priced. Cin7 is inventory/OMS. GlobeTrader is a brand-owned wholesale portal for consumer-product brands (toys, pet, golf and similar) plus a buyer/rep network, with XM Works “The Works” as the optional export desk.

Does GlobeTrader take a commission?

Not on the public pricing page. Cost is the plan ($199 / $299 / $499 monthly, or yearly $159 / $239 / $399) plus 0.50% / 0.35% / 0.25% payment integration fee. Premium support and dedicated onboarding are add-ons. No GMV take-rate is shown. Named processors (PayPal, Authorize.net, and others) may charge their own rates on top.

Who is GlobeTrader for?

Paying customer: brands and DTC sellers adding wholesale without making Faire or Alibaba the core system. Buyers: retailers/distributors; access marketed as free. Reps: independents who place store orders and track commissions. Public mentions cluster in consumer goods (toys, pet, golf); there is no published industry taxonomy. Not for factory RFQs.

Can I use Faire and GlobeTrader together?

Yes, as two channels: Faire for retailers you would not otherwise reach; GlobeTrader for the portal, reps, and shows. Faire still takes 15% on marketplace reorders unless you move the relationship to Faire Direct (0%) or to your portal. Read Faire’s current Direct rules before assuming a migration path.
